Unveiling a Bizarre Steam Game Trial: Controlling a Turdy Character in a Mission to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and gamers have discovered plenty of interesting independent titles. However, one catches the eye for its quirky concept. Named Unko Technica, this classic-feel platformer features a hero that is actually a piece of poop attempting to navigate to a toilet. For those curious, "Unko" means "poop."

Player controls is straightforward: you only need a one button to leap. In 150 levels, you'll face boss fights and visit a shop to purchase outfits for your dung hero.

Execute your actions with caution, since one error requires beginning again. Bounce off air pockets to hurl your character higher, navigate fragile platforms, and activate switches to open new areas. Gather currency and use them on tougher levels as the action ramps up.

Visually, the experience boasts eye-catching environments and catchy background music. The retro graphics of morphing basic polygons may remind players of classic titles like Earthbound.

While it's hard to name similar titles where you are a coiled turd, interactive entertainment frequently featured scatological themes. For instance, in Death Stranding, you can create throwables from protagonist droppings. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use feces as soil enrichment. Naturally, fecal references shows up heavily in the South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its humorous concept, Unko Technica has already received notable recognition, such as taking top honors at a major publisher's indie contest in 2023. This trial version is ready currently on Steam, with the final release planned to launch on Steam this November.
