The England manager Questions Home Fan Atmosphere Despite Dominant Win Over Wales.

Thomas Tuchel expressed his sadness that the Three Lions team did not receive greater backing from the Wembley crowd during their decisive triumph over Wales on Thursday night.

The manager was happy to see his side continue their strong performance, with finishes from Morgan Rogers, Watkins, and Saka inside the first 20 minutes effectively ending the match. Yet, he was displeased with the energy at the national stadium.

“We had limited training days to prepare against a well-trained team and we excelled,” Tuchel commented. “We could have been 5-0 up at half-time. We couldn’t score the fourth and fifth ones. There was little noise. We didn’t get support from the stands. We did everything to win.”

“How much more can you give in the first quarter? We prevented them escape. When you only hear just the Welsh supporters for 30 minutes, it’s sad because the team deserved more support today.”

“I stand by this statement. There’s nothing more than being 3-0 in a derby. I would have wished for a little more support in phases where it gets difficult.”

“After halftime, to support us, there was excessive backing for the opposition. It could have helped us to recharge, but that’s football and so be it.”

Selection Choices Vindicated by Performance

Away from risking a dispute among fans, Tuchel also raised eyebrows by excluding Bellingham and Foden from his team selection. Yet the move was validated by Rogers excelling in the No 10 position and getting his first international goal.

“He is what he is,” the head coach noted. “He is a No 10 and he is vying for his place.”

Wales Manager Seeks Lessons from Defeat

The Wales manager hopes that his team, who face a strong Belgian side in a important qualifying match on next week, learn from their awful performance in the opening period.

“That’s the reason I wanted this friendly,” Bellamy said. “I wanted to assess our current level. What are our ambitions? What is our identity? Today fills me with drive.”

Fitness Worry for Striker

Watkins was substituted at half-time after clattering into a goalpost and will be a doubt when the national team face Latvia in Riga in a qualifier on next week.
