Paramount Skydance Set to Eliminate Around 2,000 American Positions – Update

Skydance Paramount plans to begin large-scale job cuts beginning on 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 positions in the United States under a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized during August worth $8.4bn.

More global layoffs are likely, with the company planning to reveal complete information via its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.

Earlier reports stated the company aimed to cut from 2,000 and 3,000 positions before the start of November.

As of December 2024, Paramount had nearly 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 project-based staff.

The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
