Aircraft Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Well-Known California Shoreline
A helicopter flying above a popular southern California beach unexpectedly started spinning wildly, ultimately dropping height and crashing into a row of palm fronds as onlookers observed.
Footage uploaded online show the chopper commencing to spiral near Huntington Beach then falling near the edge of the beach, where it gets stuck between palm groves and a set of stairs near the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Details
Local firefighters reported five people were rushed to the hospital comprising two who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the accident on Saturday.
Three people on the pavement were hurt. Specifics on their condition were still under review.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
